Killer Whales
A killer whale on its own is a smart, tactical and magnificent, a pod of killer whales are ten times worse and unstoppable. Over hundreds of generations, killer whales have developed amazing tactics and skills in order to survive. They can take down any animal they desire, and yet as humans we do not seem to be afraid of them. They are more dangerous than sharks, they are bigger than sharks, but we are not scared of them. Well that is because of two things. First off killer whales have been taken into domestication and second there are no charted killer whale attacks on humans in the wild. However, domestic killer whales have filled several humans.
In terms of hunting, killer whales are extremely smart. Each different group of killer whales have different tactics because they live in different areas and therefore hunt different prey in different conditions. For example, in the arctic, their main prey is seals. Often seals are left deserted on a piece of ice. The killer whales in order to get that seal work together and do amazing things. About three of the killer whales will continuously swim back and forth beating their tales under the piece of ice creating huge waves. Eventually this will tip the ice and the seal is all theirs. This along with many another techniques is what has allowed the killer whales to survive.
Dolphins and Whales are their closest relatives; however they show very different behaviours. They share many things in common with dolphins however the one major difference between them is violence. Although killer whales are not known to be violent towards humans in the wild they are extremely dangerous and amazing hunters. Working together they can take on any other animal. They can take down whales, sharks and other large animals with just four or five of them. As the years go on they are developing new and efficient tactics in order to survive. On the other hand dolphins are mostly known to be kind and playful animals and are a lot less dangerous.
Even though they are amazing hunters and can fend for themselves they are not safe when it comes to us and whaling or other human activity. They are affected in many ways and we have to try and protect them before things get worse.
